Greetings From The Hospital

Well guys I know it’s been a minute. I am in the hospital so I’ve been a little busy. Everything is okay, no worries. I just started treatment!! It’s exciting and scary at the same time. The side effects aren’t horrible (knock on wood) I’ve been pretty lucky. For those of you who don’t know I am getting IVIG. IVIG stands for Intravenous Immunoglobulin.  Immunoglobulin is found in your blood. It’s part of your immune system. So the immunoglobulin is spun out of people who donate to their blood and given to people like me. It helps reset your immune system to distract it from attacking whatever it has decided to attack. For me, it’s my gut and a couple other places in my body. Fingers crossed that this treatment works because I’ve been through hell and back trying to receive it. I am currently receiving my second dose as we speak. I really can’t wait to go back to school its been almost two whole weeks. Hopefully I won’t have any bad reactions so I can go back next week sometime. I am in the hospital for a few more days, as my infusions take 5 days. I will have another one once a month for the next four months. I am worried about balancing school with it but I will figure it out. I just hope my professors won’t get too upset. This is just a tiny update because my head kind of hurts so I am not going to type much more. I’ll keep you updated!
