How to Network on Twitter

Posted on April 9, 2019April 17, 2019 by Sydney Rose

I am going to share my method of how I made so many great friends on Twitter and have even gotten a couple of opportunities to work with different bloggers. Twitter is an essential tool when it comes to the blogging world because it really helps you get your name and your blog out there. It’s also really helpful to get tips and tricks from other bloggers so that you can be more successful with your blog. A few months ago I made a blog post called How to Gain Twitter Followers Overnight because I was pretty successful with that when I was super active on Twitter, and not worrying about school. I’ve said this a million times, but when I graduate in May I’ll get back on the grind and work on everything! The more you put time and effort in, the better results you get!

Cyn from Cynspo has collaborated with me on this project and is bringing you
part 2 for more advice on Twitter!

So with out further a do here are some tips and tricks to network with fellow bloggers/followers:

1. Follow Bloggers You Think are Interesting!

Once you follow them, check their stuff out and see what they’re up to. Get educated on what they stand for and what their interests are. It’s important to network with people that are similar and different from you–that way you can get a variety of friends and followers!

2. Subscribe and Comment on Their Blog!

People love when you show interest in what they have to say. If you comment and subscribe, they might return the favor and show similar interest in what you have to say as well!

3. Participate in Threads

Often there are blogging accounts that want to showcase your posts and get your name out there. Share you latest posts or your links to other social media. Then go look at who else did it as well and interact with them!

4. Hop in Their DM’s!

Yes, I said it. Don’t be like a creepy boy at 1 am thats like “U up?” But send them a nice message! It could be anywhere from:

Hey! I checked out your blog and I loved (name of post!). I never thought of that idea or it was something I could really relate to! My DM’s are always open to chat!

Hey! I am also a fellow (chronic illness fighter/blogger/student/influencer/make up artist/author/chef etc.). I’d love to chat with you about what you’ve been doing to keep up and be consistent with your blog!

5. Reply/Like Their Tweets!

If you see something you think is funny/sad/relatable etc. send a reply! It could even be answering a poll. You also can start liking their tweets as well! It might be good to send them “good luck” or “I’ll keep you in my prayers” or any advice you have for them. Show that you’re interested in building a relationship with them.

6. Be Consistent

This is SO important! I am pretty sure I said this in my other post about Twitter. I have a lot of trouble doing this now, but if you’re consistent you’ll meet a lot more people and be able to get opportunities to do interviews for their blogs, or you could ask them to be a guest on your blog too!

5. Tweet What’s on Your Mind!

This can also be a really good way of meeting people. Some people will come to you. You could tweet anything from inspiration to needing advice or just what’s on your mind. You never know who might reply!

If anyone has any other tips or tricks to how they network, feel free to comment below. I think I hit everything I do on Twitter but if I miss something I will let you know! It has been so fun interacting with people and I have learned so much from doing so!

Very good post with a nice simplicity to it! People get too strategic. Follow people you like and do the other things you write about and things will go well. And if it takes time to build followers, at least you are enjoying yourself in the meantime. 🙂

Hi Sydney! I see you have nearly 3000 followers on Twitter, how long did that take you to get?

Hey!! Okay so I wasn’t really active on my Twitter until December and then I was into it until I really had to go back to school! I tweeted here and there but I just got back into it! If I had been more active, it would’ve easily been a couple of weeks!

This is such great advice! I follow a lot of Bloggers on both Twitter and their blogs, but I don’t take as much time to really get to know them. This is something I need to work on. Thanks for the tips!!
